Tales of People and their places
This year, Matemade was asked to created a series of short documentariesof individuals who have a profound bond with the natural world surrounding them and the decisions they make to maintain, contribute to, or thoughtfully engage with it. As a 360 campaign, Matemade provided campaign photography alongside multipurpose product and catalog photography.
Episode 1. Gabriel Rosa
An outdoor man at heart, Gabriel grew up on a farm in the South of Brazil where he spent his days fishing and riding horses with his grandfather and mountain biking with his friends. His passion for the outdoors, the sea and photography takes him to places and on adventures where he tries to show the beauty of his surroundings through his lens. Gabriel now lives in the South of Portugal, where he surrounds and immerses himself daily in the natural beauty that this place has to offer. He is dedicated to keeping it unchanged and unspoiled. Episode 2. Patrizia Bruno
If there is anyone that breathes the essence of what it means to be an advocate for protecting our natural surroundings, it is Patrizia. She grew up in the Italian Alps, which served as her very own, endlessly entertaining playground. Together with her parents and sister she traveled a lot in their van and they spent their days hiking, climbing and camping. “When you grow up like this, you don’t want to live any other way.” As a reporter and author, Patrizia had the chance to explore some of the most remote places on our planet and she moved around a lot. Now, she has settled on the coast of South West of France where – for the first time in her life – she felt like staying. All the while maintaining her adventurous and free-spirited lifestyle.. – Shot & edited by Wildfocus. Photography by Phillipe Dalampu
